On a 9692 there is a return line already in place to the rear of the tractor. All you have to do is add a coupler. It's described in the manual.
However, maybe that wasn't the case with the 9680.....
I have my hyd sprayer pump return back to the coupler. I've always done that and haven't had a problem yet. The versi has such a huge oil cooler that a little hyd motor isn't going to overheat it.
