i would think if the planter is that new then i would bet a SM3000 would plug right into the existing plug in. Then buy an old radar or a low cost gps unit that plugs into the radar plug-in and he will be in business. They do of course make the high and standard (low) rate sensors. I have tried them both and the both do pretty good in corn. I might actually have a SM3000 he could possibly buy.
