From my experence, brome only "yeilds" on first crop. The remaining crops, brome doesn't yeild or grow / recover much. Orchard grass on the other hand will have regrowth on 2nd, 3rd and remaining crops in the alfalfa. So, thats why orchard grass yeilds more then brome when mixed w/alfalfa.
