We are using Sitemate VRA. The product seems to work well and we like the field records.
I would think the handheld should work well.
You may want to consider purchasing a rugged tablet on e.bay and purchase a compact flash serial I/O card from another source. The rugged laptop would be much more powerful than the Titan.
