Subject: Raven Envizio Pro vs Trimble 500

Sunnyside, WA
Ordered a new pull type sprayer a couple months ago and decided to add the Raven Envizio Pro with swath control to make spraying some smaller odd shaped fields a little easier. Seemed to make the most sense at the time, but I think its pretty spendy to upgrade a Raven system to autosteer (WAAS or Omnistar).

I'm starting to wonder if I should look more closely at a Trimble/Ag Leader system with the 500 and swath control. Seems like I could upgrade to the steering system with the wheel mount for $3000 plus $3000 more if I need Omnistar.

The sprayer will have a Raven 450 rate controller. If I used either of these systems could the Raven 450 be dropped? Would it be advisable to drop the 450 or just keep it? I like the idea of being able to upgrade the system for autosteer later since we use the same tractor for planting corn, spraying, and seeding triticale in the fall, but its a JD 4840 for now and not real interested in putting an integrated steering system on it.

Anyone have experiences with swath control on a Raven Envizio or EZ 500?

Thanks for any input.
