Don't remember when the tradition started around here, but on Christmas morning, we (Dad and I) take a little extra time doing chores and pamper the livestock a bit. Maybe it's a little better hay or extra bedding, a little molasses in their feed, maybe it's just a little rub on the hip as they eat at the bunk that morning.
Funny how that little extra bit sure makes you feel wonderful that morning!
