Sounds trite, but is used by a couple of timothy growers here.

Wear goggles.

FWIW, I can't get near the stuff and have severe allergic reactions to timothy grown here when it is cut in the pollen stage. My reaction is so severe that it takes 6 to 10 benadryl tablets to keep me from serious breathing problems cause by my throat and tongue swelling up. Of course, after chomping down that much antihistamine, I'm dragging so badly, I don't dare operate equipment, so I'm useless.

That's why I like orchardgrass. ;-)
