Subject: RE: One more AgLeader 2000 question

There is no single calibration number as there is in the Deere system. Ag Leader use a series of numbers (C2 - C10) to determine the flow at any given time. The flow, moisture, ground speed, width and other factors are used to determine the yield.

Ag Leader's concept splits up the capacity of your combine into 10 categories (C2-C10), there is an associated "weight" or value for each of these categories. These are the C numbers that you can review on the monitor. Ag Leader has some initial starting values based on their experience with combines like yours. These are good starting values.

If you actually weigh some loads, the true weights can be entered. The monitor can perform a calibration routine where it adjust these C numbers in an attempt to bring them in close agreement with the scale weights.

The initial values are linear (if they were graphed - the graph would be a straight line). If a few weighed loads are entered the values are adjusted upward or downward but the values are still linear. If several loads are used, the monitor goes though a complex routine where the C numbers are adjusted in an attempt to get the values to very closely agree with the scale weights. This process usually results in a nonlinear curve.

Because of this process, the Ag Leader system can be more accurate than single point calibration schemes.

You really should weigh some loads to get the system calibrated properly. Possibly the previous owners has done this. Look at the C numbers and compare them to the initial values listed on the Ag Leader site. If they are somewhat close but not nice rounded numbers, the previous owner has probably performed calibration and those values may be quite acceptable.
