Well, about 20 miles north of you, on my farm, Pioneer out yields the Dekalb...at least the last few years.

We used to plant all Pioneer, but tried some DK a few years ago when P had some "fall-over numbers," but, we're swinging back to Pionnner because of higher yields.

This year our Pionner corn is standing much better than the DK and is yielding higher too. The 35A30 group and the 35F40 series have been very good for us. Next year we're planting 35A32, 35F40, and some other new one with a V76 (or similar), plus probably a few others that we haven't yet ordered We buy Pionner corn in the 105 range and our early corn comes from DK -- like 52-40.

Pionner corn seems to like heavy "blue earth" and lots of pig manure.
