Mid Michigan | When we bought our other place it had been in crp for a long time. It takes a long time to get land back to where it should be. Sometimes there are saplings growing out there, weeds as high as the tractor hood. Ground just full of weed seed and the wildlife usually has a pretty good hold on everything too. Most important thing will be to get a soil test done as you will probably be paying the fertilizer guy a pretty good chunk of change for a couple of years. Can you tell I am not a very big fan of crp, or PA-116, or just about any other program the state or government cons you into signing up for! Dad has 27 acres of wetlands and that is about all the regulations we can gag for a lifetime. I do like it for the pheasants and deer though. | |
