Subject: RE: 2008 NGMO Corn Premiums...why?

USA
Ron,

My guess would be the reason that the good NGMO premiums are at the river locations, is because the NGMO corn is being exported.

At STL, the buyers of NGMO corn are CGB ( Granite Grain), Cargill, ADM, CHS, and H&B. H&B is from Pleasnt plains, IL but they hire someone in STL to load their corn on barges. Usually one of them is taking NGMO corn, it is not a waiting game like it used to be.

Read something a while back, that the Japenese were concerned that they may not be able to source NGMO corn in the future to make beer from. It appears the Japenese have a problem drinking beer that has a label on the container stating that it was made from GMO corn.

Fellow from Cargill told me a year ago, that the demand for NGMO corn, isn't going away. It appears that those wanting to buy NGMO corn are becoming more aggresive in trying to line up acres for the 08 season. Wouldn't be surprized to see a $1.00 per bu premium for NGMO corn in the next two to three years
