| We have put Avail on about half of our wheat ground. I beleive the cost is in the neighborhood of $6 an acre.
The hard part may be getting your fertilizer supplier to get it. We saw good results on corn. Tissue tests backed up both visual and yield info. Used it on some hay ground, but it was so dang dry it's hard to tell anything. Our high Iron soils supposedly tend to tie up phosphorus. Experience suggests that that is correct. Our Iron levels here are literally off the charts. Don't know about your area. It is a liquid, that is mixed with the fertilizer during blending. Put the phosphorus in the blender first with avail, blend, then add the rest of the ingredients. At least that's what I was told by my supplier. | |
