For my permanent bermudagrass hay meadows I sample every three years. These test results do double duty. First to evaluate the adequacy of my fertility program, and then to determine my continuing fertility program.
The bermudagrass gets anhydrous and 11-37-0 every year. The potassium, magnesium and micronutrients are applied every 3 years.
I do believe this fertility management method would work well anywhere. The amounts probably are more appropriate for the Central Texas soil, climate, production goals, and market pressures. | |
