Do I understand this right.... Can I run a JD receiver on the tractor and the drill and will they talk to each other to keep that drill going perfectly straight between lasts years rows.

No. What you are referring to is the iGuide system, however, the product announcement press release came out in August of 2006 but the iGuide is not yet available for purchase:

You could run RTK on your tractor and possibly seed between your 10" rows from year-to-year. However, in my opinion, to truly accomplish this you need something which will compensate for your implement drift, in addition to RTK guidance on your tractor. Currently, there are two systems on the North American market which will take care of your implement drift, both of which are based upon the Orthman TrackerIV-->

I believe that the Trimble system is also available through CaseIH as part of the Trimble--CaseIH relationship but I could easily be wrong. I have never used the AutoFarm-powered system but believe that AutoFarm's soild reputation in RTK vehicle guidance will be reflected in their implement guidance controls. I have also never used the Trimble-powered system but have watched it in action and know someone who it using it with great success.
