Kansas
When you say "tonnes" do you mean a metric ton (2200 lbs) or a standard ton (2000 lbs)?

From what I gather you plant on approximately 40 inch rows and depending on what you mean by "tonnes" that field made 137.5 bpa on a standard ton rating or 151.25 bpa metric ton rating.

In either case, on dryland sorghum planted that far apart with as loose of heads as I'm seeing in the picture, I'm impressed. Especially for as tall as that milo is and how much moisture that plant consumed just to produce stalk.

How much nitrogen and phosphate do you apply to make that kind of yields? Are your soils a dark loam ideal soil or do you have less than ideal soil conditions to deal with? Is that a conventional till field or do you use a no-till system?

Very interesting to learn about what goes on the flip side of the world. I enjoyed your pictures very much and hope to see more of your operation. Thank You for sharing them.
