Subject: Re: Steyer seeds

Martinsville, Ohio
I have scouted their wheat and they have a good wheat program. I would not be afraid to plant their product.

25R47 is still tops around here but gets beat once in awhile and more often with newer genetics coming out but that was an awfully good line, like 3394 corn here.

Ohio Certified Hopewell still has areas it cannot be beat in.

There has not been enough money in wheat to bring out the great potential genetics. It takes almost 13 years to get a variety out so what you are looking for might have been discovered in 90-94.

I prefer those really true, tedious to cull out even topped wheats. That costs money and that is why you see so many ragged varieties that beats them once in awhile. I prefer really true varieties with known characteristics I can adapt to a farm.

Steyers are good people and are still here for reason.
