Subject: Re: moisture tester

I bought one of the first DJs when they came out. Used it until about 4 years ago when it quit. Bought a new one at our CIH dealership, says CIH but is made by DJ. Gave $150 for it & it's been worth the money.

Neighbor loaned me his that will check the moisture while on the cob, has a couple prongs that inbed into the kernals. Can't recall the name. Easier than hand shelling but accuracy isn't much better. Depends on where you test on the ear as to the moisture. Tip is drier, butt is wetter, so usually test in the middle of the ear.
