Subject: Re: Corn silage harvest

Lancaster County, Pa.
Glad to hear your yields are better than expected. Iv'e been up through to Penn State and up 15 to I80. Also, have a sister and brother-in-law who farm at Lewistown. There was some dry looking fiels up that way. With the dry weather were there any specific production practices that seemed to do better than others? Big difference with no-till, certain cover crops, planting dates, shorter/ longer season corn? I feel spoiled with the timely rains we have had all summer( south of Lancaster). We will be cutting silage Tuesday and Wenesday, I'm anxious to see how it yields!
