Northeast Illinois | Few pics of some mid-group 0 beans we planted this spring. Started harvest today 11.6 moisture , running about 48 bpa so far, selling for 8.31 / bushel cash. On the phone now trying to rustle up a few more trailers so we can cut tomorrow, picked a bad weekend to start, elevators are closed till tuesday a.m.. Don't own a combine (sold ours in 2001) but found this custom operator to do it. said he never did beans in August. Always wanted to try an early bean to see what happened, so far so good. Reason we did this is that on a sod farm we always try to be done seeding kentucky bluegrass by Sept 15th or so and a full season bean would not allow us to do this.
