Subject: Re: Rye Cover

Virginia
I use ryegrass on bean ground going into corn. On corn on corn I use cereal rye or don't do anything. The reason is because the beans come off by mid october and the corn is finished by the 10th of November and this is a little too late for ryegrass. The downside to ryegrass is getting it killed. I haven't had any problems but I've found some good info on getting it killed. I haven't tried cereal rye for beans but I've heard what you're saying and will try some this fall. Maybe it will get me into the 70 bushel bean club!
