| I don't claim expertise, but I believe the damage that can occur is not slightly smaller ears, but burning off the ear shoots so that plants are either barren or have only a small short (2-4 inches) ears. I think this is nearly unheard of with aerial applications. It seems like it is much more likely with.....
.... ground app where large spray volumes and high pressures can get much more chemical beneath the canopy and onto the ear shoots.
.... application were early, i.e. before tasseling by a week or so....again, the upper canopy leaves weren't completely unfurled to block more of the spray from getting on the lower plant.
.... high surfactant loads were used. | |
