Subject: Feed storage questions.

Trying to figure out how to better store feedstuffs. Located in NESD, and it does get cold up here during the winter. We background and finish to about 1350 to 1400lbs.

Will beet pulp or WDG store in a silage bag? The beet pulp is pretty wet, but it is only available into spring a bit, then the plants close down.

Also, silage baggers. Will a silage bagger like an ag bagger brand pack high moisture corn? I know a roto press will, but they don't seem to be as common.

We are trying to set up a little differently for feed storage, and wondering if a bagger is the way to go. I am just trying to work through if using a bagger makes sense. Does anyone know of baggers for rent in NESD?

The other option is to pile and pack and cover. The problem is, that takes beet pulp out of the ration during the summer months.

How do you do it?

All thoughts and opinions welcome.

Thanks.
