Subject: RE: Question About Yield Mapping

Effingham, IL

That's an interesting way to display a difference between areas.

The only thing I don't like in toolbox is when you make a surface it converts your points into a cell. Because I primarily use toolbox for VRT recommendations, I have my cell size set at 60'x60' which when creating a yield surface, toolbox averages all the yield points which fall within the 60'x60' area and averages the values. The end result is a map that reduces the displayed resolution so that it's harder to pick out the variability. I could change the cell size before doing this but I'm afraid I'll forget to change it back before I run my grid sample surfaces and VRT recs.

Thanks for the suggestion though. It's good to know of other ways of doing things.
