Subject: DDG vs. soybean meal for cattle ration

Has anybody switched from ddg to bean meal for cattle rations? Here in SD the e-plants are tight on ddg and have it priced higher than it's normally been, (in relation to corn) used to be about 90% of corn price and is now 107% or higher, ($215/ton). Hi-pro bean meal is a little over $260 a ton. I realize ddg has more fat, thus more energy. I have plenty of corn and can just feed a little more corn. Strictly on a per pound of protein, ddg is $.39 per pound and bean meal is $.29 per pound. Is the extra fat in the ddg worth the difference. I'll haul both products myself. A load of bean meal is gonna last a lot longer and will cost less in trucking. What say you??
