Manitoba | around my place all we will use is barb wire, we are on very sandy ground like 6" to a foot of topsoil then beach sand underneath. Electric works ok in the spring when ground is wet, but by mid summer it is to dry do get a ground i can stand there and hold the fence all i want. Plus we have some pasture that is 10 quarters with perimeter and cross fences some down to a quarter in size. I just don't trust electric, we have too much bush and sloughs and all it takes is one tree to fall on it ground it and the fence is no good for the rest of the way around. Everything here is 4 strand barb on perimeter and 3 strand cross fences and they work fine, dont see why anyone would need a 6 strand fence. | |
