Just outside downtown Prairie Hill | Anybody looking at the grassland reserve program? I'm a late arrival at looking this thing thru...deadline is Nov. 30. The only ugly part I've found is the grazing restriction from May 1 thru July 15 on 25% of the land. We rotate on a long rest interval--usually in the 60 day range. Thinking we could make this work with minimum changes. My info is based on one phone conversation so far. Yearly rates are in the 10-15 dollar/acre area. Permanent easement is $1250/a. Payments would count on regular income. I am leaning to the permanent easement today....might just let the whole thing slide. Your thoughts welcome and appreciated. |
