Of course BMR has a weaker stalk. It is bred to have less lignin in the stalk so there is more digestible material. Grain and tonnage aren't everything, especially when we're talking dairy. You have to have digestibility figured in to see the whole picture. My guess is your Croplan is poor on digestibility and you are likely giving up some milk because of it.
