Subject: RE: tracks on skidsteer

I've got tracks on my NH LS170 and love them in mud.  In fact, I don't take them off from April until November.  Mine are coming off next week.  They do NOT work in snow.  What happens is the snow gets packed on the inside of the tracks and the tracks get so tight you can't even move.  Found that out last spring during a late blizzard.

I've got "Tracks Plus" tracks.  They give a little more floatation then Grousers and are lighter and cheaper than Loegering.  Plus they are easily rebuildable.  Got mine on the Net for $1160 with freight last year, haven't seen them that cheap since.  Northern Tool sells them but they get $300 freight.

I've got 10-16.5 tires.  The 12-16.5's are a lot higher priced.   Plus you may need wheel spacers if you can't flip your rims around, and if you do flip them, the valve stems are on the inside.
