Chilliwack, British Columbia | We installed them new in our barn in 2006, the only section of rope that has been replaced was due to the drum not shutting off when it was supposed to and pulled the rope too tight and snapped it. Otherwise, 5+ years, no problems. They do take more maintenance when new, need more tightening sessions, but otherwise no different. Well worht the extra cost.
However, if you have rough concrete, can wear the rope prematurely. Also, locals who bed with sand have wearing issues as well, and have all gone back to cable, as far as I know. Daritech seems to have no problem with sand, they do not know why we do "here", we are less than an hour N of the shop. They figure the colder Northern sand must be the culprit ;)
