NE Iowa | NE Iowa. A lot of pastures around here have varying amounts of timber so per acre is tough to judge. From what I see around $125 per cow calf pair for the summer is a good average if fences are decent and water available. Typically the pasture lasts from May 1 to Oct 1. So 5 months or around $25 a month per pair. Takes about 1.5-2 acres per pair if pure grass. Timber is only good for shade. | |
