Western Nebraska | We set it up in front of the gate in the small pen and then use the short panel in the small pen as a sweep gate. The portable alleyway is great for preconditioning and other vaccinating chores. You can fill the alleyway and then just walk down the catwalk hitting each animal. We normally load cattle out of the rawhide off of cornstalks. It works good, but it is a little bit of a job to get the cattle to turn and go down the alleyway. With the parasal we don't have that problem. They flow relatively easily into it and through it. It makes giving shots a breeze and it sets up faster than the rawhide does. Unless they have changed the design, you have three winches to lower it to the ground and one pin and cable that holds one panel in transport mode. You pull the pin, unhook the cable and swing the panel out and fasten it to the frame and lower the whole thing to the ground. Usually less than ten minutes setup time. |
