Subject: Exports running approx 85,000 to 100,000

New Mexico
head per week ( say 15,000 to 18,000 metric tonnes per week ) in Oct.
(afore is fed steers / hiefers, ie high end product )

FI harvest indicates that traditional fed steers / hiefers makeup in the 76% range of total harvest.
( normal is 80 to 82% of the total )

Cull cow harvest been running 22 to 23% of total harvest ( cows total bout 140,000 to 150,000 head per week of late ) .
( long term normal cows is 18% of total harvest )

Total FI ins harvest runs approx. 655,000 to 665,000 per week.

Dressed weights been off 20 lbs as comped to 010.
Reason is likely due to more cows in the mix., ie lighter total carcass weights.
Also there's alot of hiefers in the mix ( bout 40% of the total per week lately )

Maybe for several reasons, the only supposed price reported for exports is what the offshore sales purveyors ( also usa packer owned ) supposedly report back.

Perhaps it's not total coincidence that number tends be a flat breakeven or supposed no profit number, which is the same price as beef in the internal usa.

Cow harvest may likely drop off substantially now thru year end.
The afore is counter seasonal, however the S drouth has worked to sell alot of cows out.
( right at 60% of the total usa cow harvest numbers for 011 is attributed to S cull cows).

The afore takes approx 60 to 75,000 head per week out of the near future total harvest mix.
( also means total usa harvest beef tonnage drops approx 10% too )

The afore diametric could make for a very interesting market, to say the least.
