| I think over the long term you would be more satisfied with an earthmover tire for your tank. I have some 8' tires with a drinker hole cut in each side placed in the fenceline between pastures. I put an 18.4x38 tractor tire on top, then a 9.00x20 truck tire, then a sheet of plywood and a pickup and car tire on top to hold the plywood down.
The tractor and earthmover tire are screwed together and I put expanding foam in the gap between them. The truck tire along with the plywood and car and pickup tire holding them down are easily removable to access the float valve in the bottom of the tank.
I have a 4" overflow pipe built into the tank bottom and piped about 30' away. I can set the water to overflow enough to keep the tank ice free. Works good in remote locations with no access to power. | |
