I've never seen a set of doubles set up that way, but I'm sure they exist. Most of the ones I know of are a box on the truck, pulling a pup trailer like that. Cabover trucks.

Lot of the California special hay trucks are setup the same way. With a cabover, a 26' bed on the truck, a sliding tongue and a pull trailer, you can be under the 75' length restriction on a lot of mountain highways. They are also very maneuverable. Lot of the loading chutes are setup to load of the side, no place to turn around. Still a few guys around with the boxes to put on their hay trucks, to turn them into cattle trucks for the season.
