Well it's not exactly a western roundup but I used some hot wire to section off a patch of really good grass I haven't grazed since early summer. It was on the other side of some grazing corn so took making a quick lane to it this evening.

Calling them this time of year gets an enthusiastic response as they are tired of cleaning up the woods and odd pastures.  They came a running when I called them. Here are a couple pictures. Had a near frost last night in WI and it won't be long before a hard killing freeze. It seems like they really appreciate some good grass and savor it.

One more larger but more recently grazed pasture after this odd patch before starting to feed hay hopefully not until late Oct. I am always amazed at what you can do with a single hotwire and cattle that respect it. Here are some pics.
