NW Illinois | Wow, I have/use three of those for my Cattle, two in the Pastures and one in the lot for fats, never a problem. The two in the Pastures I put those Felt liner lids on that have the Reservoir in the center for Fly repellent, didn't make any difference to the Cows.
Only problem I have is that every year I have a Steer that NEEDS to stand on top of it with his front feet to chew his cude, then the rain gets in and eventually he ruins the lid, Must help the Gasses excape out the top and the solids out the back!!
