You're welcome.

We use the uprights for high moisture corn. We use a Buffalo roller mill/blower combination and by the time it comes down the unloader, it's pretty well cracked. The speed at which you can fill a bunker makes it a much more efficient operation than wagons and a blower at uprights - stave or steel. Not to mention the minimal maintanence for a bunker. We put everything under plastic and seal it up so loss is minimized. It's important to make sure you can feed out 6" day with open face storage. Our uprights were already in place, so we continue to use them. We are always considering the option of high moisture corn in an open face bunker. The only crop that goes in a bag is our alfalfa we sell to local dairies. Works better for keeping each cutting separate.

What works for us may not work for everyone else.
