Subject: Grazing Sorgum Sundan in SW SD.

Wall, SD
We are thinking about grazing some sorgum sudan. Areas of the field did well and other areas are short. Do I have to worry about prusic acid or nitrate poisoning in those poorer areas?

We have had an abundance of rain this year. We did not apply any fertilizer on it. The cow/calf pairs will have to go back to native pasture for water. So they will be forced off it periodically to get water. However, they will be allowed to come and go on their own schedule. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
