those have alot of red hairs mixed with the black.
( NOT true black cattle
)
Breed em to a red bull they usually have red calves or chocolate reddish calves.
Breed em to a black they have chocolate calves
(still red hairs mixed in
), once in awhile a black calf.
It is said that there are no diluter genes in the red.
As far as rat tails etc., I agree.
As far as color diluters....maybe times changed.
