Subject: hooking up a boom switch on a 4720......

Both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line
I hooked up an insight to our JD 4720, I'm not using direct command, just reading the flowmeter. When we tried it out in the field, the monitor worked well, except that when the machine wasn't spraying, the monitor picked up a very small flow reading, and this caused the monitor to read acres. Ag leader recommended that I hook up a cable to one of the relays on the machine that control the boom sections to act as an area switch. I have the cable on order, and I have the instructions for the direct command to guide me, but I thought I'd post this message to see if anyone had done something similar and could tell me exactly what to do or look for. Thanks.
