ouuuccccccccchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....I hurt just thinking about how that was, and is.  Just had a root canal 2 weeks ago and the tooth wasn't even that much in pain yet.  Good you are on the other end of this and hope you feel better soon.  Did the dr. give you any anti-inflammatory?  Take as prescribed--I felt fine for 2 days and it hit me like a ton of bricks on the third day.  Didn't take the anti-inflammatory exactly as prescribed because I felt pretty OK--big mistake.  Also hope he gave you some antibiotics as a preventive.
