Subject: RE: Fresh salsa

Germantown, TN
I can't tell you what would grow well there, but I can tell you what works down here. At various times I've grown all of these and combined them together for pico de gallo, a.k.a. salsa fresca. It's not "classic" salsa, but it still goes well with a cold beer on the back porch.

For the peppers, just use what you like. I've made this with jalapenos, serranos (my personal favorite), and habaneros. I've found it better to start them early inside from seeds and transplant them when it's getting warm.

2 Tomatoes - diced
1 Onion - diced
1 Garlic Clove - minced
Handful of Cilantro
2 Peppers
2 Limes

Mix the tomatoes, onion, and garlic.
Chop the cilantro and add it.
Seed (or not, I like mine hotter) and chop the pepper. Chop it finer for extra heat.
Add the juice of the limes and stir everything together.
Grab some chips and dig in.
