New Mexico | lower trend dollar index in the 75 range currently, and conservatively speaking 25+% of usa beef now exported.
The afore ( plus "thermal carry" from ALL other UP market segments) should move cattle $11 cwt to $17 cwt higher in the next 45 to 60 days....more likely Sooner than later. MO.
Thinking in the $137 to $142 cwt. cash range.
( Indicator of the Spring top is a one week move up cash of $11 to $12 cwt., followed by a 7 or $8 up the next week )
Also, cattle Missed 3 normal seasonal spring ups in the 06/07, 07/08, and 08/09 frames.
( just 3 more reasons why there's quite a few less cows in the usa today ).
We are now going "counter seasonal" in the market diametric.
Afore less cows simply means less finished cattle in the last half of year time fromes.
Long term steady "tick" is $0.70 cwt up weekly.
Expect cash fat cattle in the $151 to $155 cwt range by year end.
