Subject: Vac. calfs?

Macon, MO
Getting ready to start the weaning and shot process and had a question for you guys that buy feeders. When you are buying calves do you look for the calves that have been in certain programs such as Purina or MFA Health track programs and are you willing to pay more for the calves? Missouri has the Missouri Stocker and Feeder quality assurance program that gives you the white, red or blue tags depending on the level you treat your animals. I was planning on white tagging them but didn't know if I should go on up to red tags if it really pays and if the buyer really cares what level they are or if they are treated at all. Seems like when we used to send feeders to the yard they treated everything that walked off the truck anyway. Thanks in advance just don't want to waste alot of time and money if the buyers don't care and won't pay alittle extra for the well maintained calves.
