Michigan. | been fighting severe environmental allergys since I turned 30.
Tried the desensitizing injections and was miserable.
Allegra gave me chronic back pain.
Plain old Zyrtec seems to work 70% of the time, but when the Hives start showing up I have to down a couple Benedryl real quick.
One thing that DOES seem to help, is local Honey comb in small doses 2-3 times a week.
During the time I do a lot of field work tilling, chopping weeds, harvest etc. the sinus rinse REALLY helps.
Ya get all kinda gunk outta there, that would otherwise be causing the histamine counts to be elevated for a long period.
A quick sinus rinse on the way to the shower or in the shower allows for better sleep as well.
A good allergist can be invaluable. Not just for drugs, but for pointing out where and how you can reduce exposures in one environment to allow for more exposure in another.
Getting rid of dust mites or close to it for instance, allows for tolerating seasonal pollens better.
Good luck to ya!
