Subject: How to get a sticker off a garbage can??

SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ

Have a stainless steel garbage can and peeled off some of the sticker but theres like a glue paper substance stuck to the can. tried wd 40, windex but can't get it off.
Wife wants it off. Help
