Oklahoma | I will agree with some of the others, I think this is a set up. A rural area, the coyotes and owls will keep it in check to an extent, if not eventually disease will. Had a neighbor who's daughter would bring home every free cat or pup she saw. Most of the cats didn't last very long, pretty sure an owl ate well one morning based on the noises I heard, coyotes were awful close most nights. Had a rabies scare in the area as one lady was bitten by one and everyone in the area knew none of these critters had shots. Hid live traps after that to speed up the process but it doesn't sound like anyone there wants to really solve the problem.
