Embarrass WI | That's funny, we had a good-but-small plate cooler we took out to replace with a larger one, tried for 2 years to sell it, eventually took it to a consignment sale and sold it for ~$100.
We feed our own waste milk, all our cows are Johne's tested and we don't feed milk from any positives. The magazines are pushing pasteurizers for waste milk, could you use one of those? Pasteurize your milk in smaller batches, and feed it after it cooled a bit?
Our experience has been that calves do much much better on real milk. We have not fed any milk replacer for at least 15 years. Lost one calf about a year and a half ago, that was the first one in memory-out of about 100 heifer calves/year. |
