Three slices of onions rather than just one. One under the meat, one on top of the meat, and one on top of the other vegetables.
In two months it will be onion sandwiches. When the sweet onions are back in season.
In that case the onion slices will be thicker.
Leave the lettice for a side salad.
Probably have chopped BBQ Beef for a condiment.
