We have two dogs and started off with a Dyson. You could see the pet hair it leaves behind so we looked at our Consumer Reports and bought the top ranked bagless Hoover Windtunnel and now we empty it several times every time we vaccum compared to once every couple times. I can check the Model number if you would like, it was $100 at our local Farm and Fleet.
Pet hair in carpet?? what do you use.
